toolbar with fonts and font size missing

After I updated the latest version of WordPress, the toolbar had changed and the font selection and font size options were missing. I just reinstalled 3.9 with the same result. I had some time ago updated to 3.8 on my other site with no problem, but when I updated the one in question, that’s when I’ve not been able to utilize the font selection nor the size options.
