Shouldn’t the default settings for the toolbar match the WordPress editor’s default settings? After activating your plugin, one must otherwise rearrange all the default icons, so they are in the same place as before. I would expect the plugin to only offer the possibility to add additional buttons, but not rearranging the ones, that are already there.

Just my humble option. Feel free to leave it this way.

  • I agree, I found it a little odd that it would activate new features by default. Perhaps the authors have found that there are certain buttons that most users enable anyway?

It’s OK if new features are enabled by default. But the main buttons should stay at the original position. Right now, there are many default buttons that change the position or are even moved to the second level, which is not visible by default.

I actually get the exact opposite requests more often: to add more buttons by default. There are users that are not even aware that the plugin has a settings page where they can rearrange or add buttons…

I think it would be OK, if new buttons are added by default, but the regular ones should keep their original position.

But as I said it’s up to you to keep it this way, if you think that your button order makes more sense for most users.

Yeah, makes sense. The problem is: I changed the default buttons order when upgrading from TinyMCE 3.x to 4.0 and a lot of people couldn’t find the “Font face” and “Font size” buttons…

    If I change them again… ??
