• I have setup the blog-by-mail in the admin panel of wordpress and send an e-mail to the defined email address. When I run wp-mail.php from the browser I get the message “too old”… what is this?

  • Michiel, which version of wp is this?
I can’t see that message anywhere in the cvs version, (or RC1) wp-mail.php

    I don’t know… should I download the latest wp-mail.php version from sourceforge?

Michiel, you can find the version you are using by looking at the generator meta tag in your blog’s index.php in the browser.
Unless you are using 1.2.x getting the latest from the cvs won’t be helpful.

Hi, I am using WordPress 1.0.2 but will upload the latest wp-mail.

Right… the new version of wp-mail (1.13) brings me one step further: Mission complete, message 1 deleted.
It however gives me the following error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: wp_iso_descrambler() in /home2/MyWebUserID/public_html/blog/wp-mail.php on line 58
    Can you still help? ??

Michiel, perhaps the undefined function is something used by wp-mail but not in the files that you have as compared to files in the CVS. What you can do is, find the version of WP you are using (RC1?) and get the wp-mail for that and use that. 1.0.2 would not have that specific function.

Mmm…. interesting… I downloaded the 1.0.2 version from sourceforge (the complete zip file) then I copied the wp-mail.php to my site and I get again the “Too old” message. For my WP installation I used the same zip file from sourceforge:
