Sorry, I will contact Freemius and ask them about their promotions and if there is a possibility to reduce them.

The directory is indeed for caching. That is normal behavior and in fact the wp-content directory is the place that plugins should use. I will check if it can be removed if not in use anymore.

The latest version reduces the number of trial promotion messages (I could not find other types of advertising – if I missed others I will add them too) by showing them only after a much longer time and you should see them now only on the pages of Tag Groups settings. I hope that this will improve the impression. ??

No solution for the directory yet, but I plan to change the file caching to transient caching. Anyway, it should not take much space.
