too much visible in dashboard menu

  • Hi,

    I’m trying to limit the access to dashboard menu items to the max.
    A type of users needs access to “Email Subscribers” ans this comes with “Required capability” = “edit_posts”.
    Then a lot of other menu’s are still showing so I added to “Extra capability” in all those still showing “administrator”.
    The situation is better but not all has become invisible.
    Any suggestions to how I can get to a clean situation?

    I’m afraid there might not be an easy solution. You might just have to go to each menu item that you want to hide and change its permissions.

    It would probably be faster to remove certain capabilities with a role editing plugin like User Role Editor. However, as you may have noticed, there are multiple menus/plugins that use the same capability (like “edit_posts”), so you might not be able to remove some capabilities if you want some of those menus to stay visible.
