Not only it has no widgetized spaces, it also disables widgets so you can’t access them at all. If you want to copy a pre-existing widget’s data -like shortcode, html, text, etc into a block- you have to disable Hitchcock and enable any other theme JUST to have access to your data.
Then of course, enable Hitchcock again after you’ve migrated the widget data.

I get it was designed not to have sidebars and such, but blocking access to widget data feels like poor design choices were made.

It also lacks proper documentation. Limitations like the disabled widgets and only being able to use recent posts as a home (as opposed to a static page) should be informed somewhere.

    Hi @antares_chan,

Sorry to hear you’re having issues with the theme. Hitchcock doesn’t include widget support, and WordPress automatically hides the widget page in the administration panel when a theme without widget support is active. That’s not up to theme, in other words.

You can assign a static page to the front page by going to Admin → Settings → Reading. You can find the documentation in the readme.txt file in the theme folder (or at this URL), but since the theme barely includes any settings beyond the ones included in WordPress itself, it’s a small readme file.
