Our website is currently down due to abnormal CPU usage, so after talking with our hosting provider we got admin-only access to it in order to fix it, but our IP got blocked again due to this plugin making too many requests in a second. This is the log that customer support showed us:

(I have censured IP addresses for obvious reasons)

How can I fix this quickly? The hosting provider had to disable the plugin in order to let us get back into the website so I can’t provide the debug file.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi,

Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out to us. Sorry to hear you are experiencing issues.

We are not entirely sure why you are seeing so much requests. Every time you open the “manage feed” page of our plugin it checks if the feeds need to be updated or not. It does this check once for every feed you configured. When no updates needs to be done no more checks/requests will be made, unless for some reason you keep refreshing the page. Could this be happening?

Also, can you also make sure to clear all browser-caching of your browser. Specifically for Javascript/JS scripts so we are sure that the plugin is using the most recent version of the JS scripts and not an old cached one.

    Hope this helps?

    Hello,

We barely use the feeds page, only when something needs changing which is very rare.

How do I clear all browser-caching specifically Javascript/JS scripts? If you mean just deleting my browser’s cache I don’t see how that could be affecting it.

    Thank you.

Yes, I meant clearing all caching. So make sure to clear the caching of any caching plugins you or your host are using, including any object caching. Also make sure to clear your browsers caching as we want to be absolutely clear that the plugin is using the most recent version of all JS scripts of our plugin and not an old one (which might have bugs in it).
