too many request to my website

I have moved to a new hosting company and the site keeps going down. I am thinking of going back to my old hosting company.

I use cloudflare pro and the hosting company are telling me to activate under attack on cloudflare as they said

Please enable “I am under attack mode” in CloudFlare, this will mitigate the problem. There are too many requests to the website, we cannot block the IPs that send the requests as the website is behind CloudFlare and the IPs that show are CloudFlare ones, if we block these IPs the site will stop. If you activate “I am under attack” mode CloudFlare will reduce the amount of requests and the site should work normally.

I have never had this before with my old hosting company. how do i find out if they are telling the truth and how do i check these requests, and is it a wise idea to activate under attack
