Too many releases lately causing trouble

I haven’t figured out how it’s happening yet, but the last few days, whenever I’ve run updates on my multisite, two things are constants: a) BP messages is in the list, and b)my menus break except for my buddypress and home pages. I have to turn off all my buddypress-related plugins which includes BP Messages, then re-enable them for everything to work. The only plugin update that consistently shows up when the menus break, is BP Messages. I’m using the Melos Dark theme. I have two more updates today, and one, again, is BP Messages, so I am holding off. Whatever the update does, once I’ve disabled then re-enabled everything, the menus go back to working properly. I am building a concept site I want testers for, but it’s hard to encourage people to test when I am always resetting everything. I’m using the free version of BP Messages.
