I’ve been using the plugin for a couple months already, I have 8 tests running with no issues. Suddenly, new pages don’t work anymore. I have created several new pages, new tests, tried everything such as clearing cache, changing urls, clearing the custom fields with the test ID… nothing.

I don’t know what else to do!, here is a test with too many redirects:
    https://simply180.com/lp/test-a/

Here is an older test that works just fine:
    https://simply180.com/lp/real-estate-lead-gen-guide-a/

They both have a/b at the end of the slug. I am hosting at WPengine and yes, there is cache (that I also have disabled to test).

  • Hi @noche70,

Thanks for getting in touch and sorry to hear you are having trouble there!

Have you tried the solution on this page: https://simplepagetester.com/knowledgebase/simple-page-tester-hosts-support-native-php-sessions/?

Also, could you please try to debug the issue by changing your theme to WordPress’ stock theme and deactivating other plugins to see if the issue persists or not? If not, then you can find the culprit by changing the theme back and activating the plugins one by one.

If the issue persists, could you please contact our support here: https://simplepagetester.com/support/? If it’s possible, could you please create a staging site and provide the credentials to that site in the support message too?

    I hope this helps ??

    Thanks,
    Okky

    Thanks Okky,

It looks like the plugin did the trick…kinda.
    I created a staging site:
    https://simply180.staging.wpengine.com/lp/test-b/
and it looks like it worked. But the same page in production gives me the “too many redirects” error:
    https://simply180.com/lp/test-b/

Staging is a carbon copy of production… any other possible causes?

    Thanks!

Also, WP engine asked me this:
“In order for us to make this work. We need to know what to uncache from the plugin developer. Whether its the pages, arguments, or cookies.”

    Can you help please?

    Hi @noche70,

Ideally if you can provide them the pages involved in the test, they can then exclude them from the varnish cache and all should start working as expected.

WPE don’t cache their staging sites with Varnish which is why it works there.

Let me know if you run into any issues!

    Cheers,
    Josh
