• The menu (top navigation) lost some pages recently. When I try to add them, the menu I created (called Primary) becomes “unlinked” or is no longer designated as the primary menu. When I try to designate it, the new menu items disappear again.

I have updated WordPress and the theme and it is still not working. I have also switched themes to twentyten and it still happens.

The theme developer suggested that maybe I had too many products in the menu. Sure enough, I removed some and now the menu works as it should.

Is there anyway to fix this problem so that I can show all my products?

  • When I had this problem, my menu was up to 62 items and I solved it by increasing the php.ini variable max_input_vars from 1000 to 2000. My host does not allow me to edit php.ini but the host support tech was happy to do it for me.

good info thanks same issue here too.

I had a lot of products under one heading, and wanted to distribute them over 3 headings, under one parent heading. I didn’t add any products, just moved them. I am only getting one of the three subheading showing up under the parent, although I know they are all there. Can anyone help?
