Too many limitations

  • Interesting that the developer raked in some five figures in ‘donations’ and then gave us a ‘lite’ version, requiring us to pay for the better options. Is that to pay the investors back, or just to pocket more cash? I have a hard time believing you are giving back to or supporting authors with this scheme. It’s not that I don’t believe folks shouldn’t make a buck or two for their work, but taking in 12 grand (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/authormedia/mybooktable-wordpress-bookstore-plugin) as of April 2013 and giving back a stripped down version which asking for more to get a proper version is weak.

    I gave you a three because the code is solid, for what it is. I suppose I can build on it to get the plug in I really need. Good luck with the double-dipping.

  • I totaly disagree with the comment on earning money on such a great plug-in.

    Just realize how much hours it take to develop such a tool… 12 grand won’t pay back the time to do so… !

    And the support given on the free-version is just great.

    Just let developers make money on what they invest. I’m sure you want to make money on your site also… so don’t complain.

    This free version is just great !

    I do know how much time it takes to write and create plugin/themes, since you asked. Even so, double dipping is unethical and greedy. But then, some of us have parents who raised us right, so….
