When using the Elementor page builder and inserting any one of the Elementor blocks/widgets that are related to images on the page such as the Basic Image Gallery block or the Image Carousel block – all of the images contained in these blocks will be added as multiple og:image tags in the <head> by TSF.

As a result, some pages with a few carousels/galleries could have a very large number of og:tags in the head, around 50 or more on some pages that I’ve tested, which looks very odd when inspecting the source.

I initially thought that this must be a bug, but after searching and reading other related TSF topics, I see that this might actually be a feature as I saw mentioned that multiple og:image tags will be auto-generated from WooCommerce product galleries for example – so could the Elementor gallery block tags also be related to this?

Would there be a way to disable this “feature” or control the amount of auto-generated og:image tags to prevent too many tags being generated?

    Hello!

Yes, this was added to the v4.0 release. It enables users to select one of the images attached when sharing the page on Facebook.

We should consider limiting the number of images in a future update, to counter these edge cases.

On the SEO Settings page, under “Social Meta Settings > General”, you should find a checkbox called ” Output multiple Open Graph image tags?”. Uncheck that, save the settings, and the extraneous images will be omitted.

Thanks Sybre, using the checkbox works.
