tons of answers are no answer at all- “Oops, no such file~ problem?

  • Sorry folks but i have been readig back and forth.
    Tons of WP members are getting the proble of not eing able to edit any template becaus what we get is

    Oops, no such file exists! Double check the name and try again, merci.

    There must be a simple solution for this

    I already lost *all* content in the reinstallation – 2 weeks work.
    This is very furstrating. Can someone help please?Thanks

  • Okay just uploaded – apparently it was a php/database error on the host server end – completely deleting my site (thank goodness for backups) and reloading did nothing the error kept being recreated. However, deletion and then reinstallation on a new server (new IP) seems to have cured my issue.
    Hope this info helps someone else.

    Out of curiosity, who was your old webhost? I just started having the same problem on Godaddy. I must have tooled around with files & DBs for a few hours, with no remedy.

    I moved an exact copy of the files/db to a new web host and the problem is gone.
