• Hi Team,

    Love your work ??

    A couple of times recently I’ve noticed that I stopped receiving emails from my WP installation.

    When I log into the admin area, I’m greeted with the following message:

    EMAIL DELIVERY ERROR: WP Mail SMTP plugin logged this error during the last time it tried to send an email:

    Mailer: Gmail
    {
    “error”: “invalid_grant”,
    “error_description”: “Token has been expired or revoked.”
    }
    Consider running an email test after fixing it.

    I manage to fix this by unlinking from my Gmail account, and then just re-authorising the link.

    While it’s an easy fix, I’d like to not have to do this at all.

    Are you able to advise as to why this is occurring?

    I’m not sure if it matters, but I am using WP Rocket to cache my website and set it so that the cache never expires – will this be messing with the plugin?

    Many thanks for your time!

  • Same thing just started happening on my client’s site.

    It was working fine on August 5, she changed her password on August 7, this morning (August 10) an order was received and processed but the plugin threw the error. Customer didn’t receive the order emails.

    Would a gmail password change cause this error:

    EMAIL DELIVERY ERROR: WP Mail SMTP plugin logged this error during the last time it tried to send an email:

    Mailer: Gmail
    {
    “error”: “invalid_grant”,
    “error_description”: “Token has been expired or revoked.”
    }
    Please review your WP Mail SMTP settings in plugin admin area. Consider running an email test after fixing it.

    Found a very helpful link on all the possible causes for this error, and my question was answered. Yes, changing the password will cause this problem. Simple solution is not do that of course, but if it happens, then disconnecting and reconnecting the gmail config solves the problem.
