    Hi,

    not sure when this happened, but in IE, the FAQ has either ‘A’ or ‘a’ instead of the plus sign like it does in Chrome. I’m using the free version so I can’t change it to anything but the plus sign. Is anyone else having this problem? The letter ‘Q’ would be more appropriate but would rather have the plus sign.

    Thanks!
    Steph

    Hi Iguana,

    Is there a particular version of IE that this is a problem for? Looking at your page in Microsoft Edge (the successor to IE), the plus signs seem to show correctly. The “A” is what you would get if the custom font we use for the toggle symbols didn’t load correctly.

    Hi! I have this exact same problem with the ‘a’ showing up. Can you help to fix that? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin.

    I am using chrome, windows 10

    Hello kosap1,

    Your issue seems to be because of a conflict with another plugin(autoptimize). If you check our forums you should probably find a solution to that which is updating a setting in autoptimize. Otherwise, you can check with the support team with autoptimize and they would help you with that.

    Best regards,

    No need, the AO support “team” goes where it is needed ??

    This is probably a CSS-conflict, try confirming by disabling CSS optimization (and else JS optimization). Once that is established you’ll have to exclude Ultimate FAQ’s CSS (or JS) from autoptimization by adding it to the comma-separated exclusion fields. Have a look in the AO FAQ for more info on troubleshooting & exclusions.

    hope this helps,
    frank

    Hi,
    my IE version is 11.0.9600. Is that not a version that’s supported? I don’t recall having the problem with it before. I had recently updated WP as well as my theme before noticing this was happening. I rarely use IE but I do to test things.

    Thanks!

    Thanks, guys for the quick responses. Unfortunately turning off the js and css didn’t fix the issue. I then deactivated the auto optimize all together and no joy. Any ideas?

    well, that implies the problem is _not_ with Autoptimize after all I guess.

    Hello All,

    @optimizingmatters – I apologize for the inconvenience caused. Also, I would like to thank you for providing the solution to test for conflicts with autoptimize in the future.

    @kosap1 – we are not able to access the link to your site, could you provide access to us so we could further test it to see what might be the root cause? Could you also try using the CSS mentioned below?

    @iguanamom – could you try using the following CSS in the Custom CSS box under the Settings Tab :

    .ewd-ufaq-post-margin-symbol, .ewd-ufaq-toggle-all-symbol {
    font-family: 'ewd-toggle-icon' !important;
    }

    Best regards,

    Hi,

    thanks for that, unfortunately it didn’t work (cleared cache and tested again).

    Thanks.

    Hi @iguanamom ,

    We took a look in IE11 and the plus signs seemed to appear now:

    Is the issue still occurring for you? If so, we’re thinking that you might have a browser plugin that could be interfering with clearing cache.

    If you switch to another computer and try viewing the site with IE, do the icons still show incorrectly?

    Thank you for the update. I have confirmed someone else can see it fine. I took a look through my plugins on the browser and disabled the two that were there, cleared cache but still made no difference! Odd…thanks again for the support!
