• Hey, Assistant team! I think there’s a bug in the plugin. When going to the user profile settings and setting the “Toggle Button” item to “Admin Bar Item”, it always resets itself to the regular round button after a while (like, perhaps after logging back out and in?).

It feels like I keep setting this to “Admin bar item” on a ton of my projects, and that big round button always comes back. I haven’t yet systematically tested this, so unfortunately I can’t provide repro steps or repro rates right now, but I’m certain I keep setting this over and over again.

Can you look into this? The round button sometimes covers up UI elements and it’s really more comfortable to have an admin bar item instead.

FWIW, I always clear my browser’s cache, cookies, history etc. when exiting. I don’t think it has anything to do with that though?

Hi guys, so this issue really exists, I’m not just imagining it o.O I disabled the button yesterday, and today, it’s back.

It’s a project that I work on with a colleague, and we share the same WP user account. He and I logged in and out a bunch of times yesterday. He definitely did not reset the button, neither did I.

Yet, this morning, it was back.

    Steps to Reproduce:
    1. Log into WP
    2. Click on profile name in top right corner
    3. Scroll down to “Toggle button” option in Assistant settings
    4. Set to “Admin bar item”
    5. Log in and out a few times, close browser, re-open, clear cache, reboot PC or wait a day
    6. Eventually, the button will be back

I wrote some CSS to hide the button, but it would be awesome to be able to rely on the aforementioned setting.

Thanks for the steps to reproduce. We’ll take a look and see if we can find where that setting is getting reset.
