i have the same problem:
Warning: Illegal string offset ‘format’ in /home/cwnoz5/public_html/wp-content/plugins/todays-date-inserter/lfo-todays-date-inserter.php on line 79
How can i fix it?

I believe it has to do with the format string your using either in the shortcode or in the default format string on the settings page.

I got the same warning. I inserted the short code without any variations:

[todaysdate]

I believe the issue is with the format string.. If you are using the shortcode by itself [todaysdate] and your getting the error, check in the dashboard->settings->today’s date and in the text box for the format string, make sure you have either a valid date() format string or it’s empty, (empty is noy just blank spaces, actually make sure the text field is empty if your using the default, or cut and past the default string into the text box.)

I will try to update in the next few weeks to make the empty string in the format more user friendly

Mulscully, I have the same problem – using the ‘format string’ the widget supplied.. even changed it a bit.. I still get the same error..

HUNDREDS of this ERROR fill my ERROR File – recorded everytime the page where this plugin appears on..

Given the length of time the author has been given to investigate and repair the error in their programming.. I’m going to report this as a NON SUPPORTED function.. and see about having it BANNED from WordPress..
