• My first two posts were scheduled and published without problems, but today, when I got up and entered my blog, saw that my last post scheduled to be published at night, had not been published. I entered the administration panel and saw the ‘missed schedule’ in red. Is this usual? Right now, with only 3 scheduled post, I’ve had it once.

Is there any workaround? I’ve seen there are some plugins that try to solve this (e.g. ‘WP Missed Schedule Fix Failed Posts’), do you recommend me installing one of these plugins if I’m going to schedule posts often? Do they take much overload?

    Thanks and regards,
    Miguel.

It can happen from time to time – especially if your site isn’t yet getting a lot of traffic. wp-cron is actually triggered by page views. So not visitors – no automated jobs get run.

Personally, I’d just monitor the situation for now.

Didn’t know wp-cron worked that way…the behaviour seems a bit strange to me, but it’s useful to know it.

And yes, I know it’s early to take measures on this, so I won’t panic and I’ll follow your advice and I’ll monitor the situation.

Any experience with the mentioned plugin or similars?

    Thanks very much,
    Miguel.

Not tried them myself. If your hosts offer cron scheduling, you might be able to use that to trigger WP’s cron script.
