    Hi,

today we found out, that the parseTocSlug() function used for the TOC, does not remove some quotation marks and other special chars like u201E u2026 u22EF. Editing the TOC-JS is not only not “update-safe” but also does not change the React part of the TOC.

Is there any chance to get a fix to this? Or might a different approach (e.g. using fast hashes as markers) a idea worth considering over trying to replace/remove a bunch of special chars.

    Best regards
    Chris

    Hi Sweta,

unforutnately the page isn’t published yet and just running locally. But you should be able to reproduce the issue with the following heading.

?These quotation marks inside a heading break the TOC … the ellipsis symbols do as well …“

    Brest regards
