I have checked the setting. It is ticked. I tried unticking, which didn’t work and re-ticking again which also didn’t work.

Hi there, Thank you for contacting us. Could you please confirm if you are using the TOC plugin without combining it with other plugins? Mixing plugins can lead to conflicts, which might be causing that kind of issue you mentioned.

Yes, there are quite a few plugins. None have causes any issue in the last few years they have all been applied to the website at the same time as TOC though.
The only recent plugin was for “Media Library Organizer” by Optimole.

Just wondering how this was going?

And also to pass opn a little more information: its not just the Table of Contents where the Anchor Links don’t work. If I use the anchor link address as a link from one page to a section of another, or in an email to link to a section of a page – both of these link to the top of the page too! The Table of Contents generates the right anchor link address – but its like the actual Headings on the pages aren’t associated with the anchor link addresses?
