    Jetpack Mechanic ??

    Jetpack doesn’t edit or customize the titles on your site. You might want to look at your other plugins, and maybe try to switch to a different theme to find the source of the problem.

    All I can say is titles worked just fine until I activated Jetpack. However since I want to use Jetpack, I also installed All In One SEO and it solved the problem.
