When I change the meta tag “title” of a page in Quick Edit, it becomes the title of the body of the page. See https://www.loscastanos.com/the-hotel/ for what I mean – I want “Ronda Hotel Los Castanos, near Ronda” to appear as the browswer page title but not the page title. Hope I have explained this sufficiently. Thanks for any help.

  • This really depends on how your template files are set up. A good option for you here might be to install a plugin to allow you to adjust the title tags without changing the page title. Take a look at the All in One SEO Pack. That should give you the flexibility you’re looking for.

Thanks, Jonathan, for responding. I already have Meta SEO Pack. Are you familiar with that? Do you know where I would make the change – there is a “title rewriting” section. I am frightened of screwing it all up!

I’ve actually never worked with that plugin before. I would be a little nervous about using it because it hasn’t been updated in more than a year.

Also, it has been downloaded about 40,000 times while the All in One SEO Pack has been downloaded almost 8.5 million times.

Would it be possible for you to switch?

Jonathan! Eureka! Thank you so much for that. I tentatively deactivated the Meta SEO and downloaded All in One. Had a bit of trouble to begin with but then I found a step by step guide to configuring it and it works a treat. THANK YOU!

The site I used for configuration is https://www.jackleblond.com/all-in-one-seo-pack-configuration/

That’s awesome. Thanks for posting the link to the step by step setup guide. Hopefully that will be helpful to someone else.
