I recently made a website for a friend using the Hemingway template – https://www.gummylicious.co.uk/

I had a long search looking for a suitable template that would allow this design and colours.

However the website title appears over the top of the header image so I took it off.

I need to either find a way to add the title so that it just appears on the top of the browser OR another template that will a allow me to make this relatively simple, colourful design.

Thanks in advance and please no jokes about the content !

Thanks Michael but they didn’t work with this particular theme.

I then trawled the support page for Hemingway theme and found a similar post from the author with a suggestion to add some code to a custom CSS which almost worked but left a small empty grey box in the header.

    Any other suggestions ?

    Hi Ajarn,

When you say ‘on top of the browser’, I assume you mean a title tag, right?

One simple way to do this would be to use an SEO plugin. I personally like all-in-one, but many others like Yoast. This will override the page title in wordpress for SEO purposes, and the SEO title will show as the title tag in the browser tab (where it just says ‘Home’ now on your site.

Is that what you are trying to achieve?

Yes keri, in fact I had already installed all in one SEO and did as you said but wasn’t sure if that would work as I couldn’t see the title on the tab of the browser. For now it just says “Home” and it doesn’t look right.

If you go to the General Settings page under the all-in-one menu in the wp-admin, what do you have for ‘Home Title’ under the homepage settings?

Also, in that same section for the question ‘Use Static Front Page Instead’ what do you have checked?

I just realised I had the all in one SEO set to static page which is why it wasn’t showing on the title. I’ve changed it now and its working fine.

    Thanks for the help.

You’re welcome, glad you got fixed ??
