While it may be nice to have one plugin to handle all things google analytics, this plugin severely slows down site performance, especially on the back end. Loading the dashboard is ALWAYS stalled by the Sitekit analytics widget. Turning it off and the dashboard is instant. Other analytics plugins are also much, much quicker than the SiteKit plugin.

I know well that the next response is going to be the turn off everything and spend three days doing plugin-by-plugin diagnostics, but the reality is that with Sitekit on, the performance is like on a dialup modem. Without it, normal.

    Hi @spireworksjason,

Thanks for reaching out, and sorry to hear you’re not happy with the performance, in particular from the wp-admin panel. Unfortunately there does need to be requests made to Analytics servers to fetch and display the information within the Site Kit dashboard, along with requests to display information from other services if connected (ie. AdSense, PageSpeed Insights). Such network requests can result in a trade off with performance.

While I won’t ask you to deactivate other plugins to check for conflicts, I would be happy to check for any third party plugins which you may have active which can also result in additional load from wp-admin if you wish. It’s very possible there are no conflicts, and the delays are just due to the requests made by Site Kit. Note that we also perform regular performance testing and we also cache responses, meaning as soon as the Site Kit dashboard loads those metrics don’t require additional loading for one hour (for the selected reporting period).

If you do want me to check your active plugins feel free to share your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.?
