Tips on speeding up video loading time

    Hi,

    I’m loving this fantastic plugin and i’m currently testing it on a homepage for a site i’m working on. I’m having a few issues:

    1) At the moment it takes around 4-5 secs for my video to start playing. Is this normal? Ideally I would like to get it around 1-2 seconds, is this possible by tweaking the settings? I’ve tried choosing the small quality option and linking to a shorter youtube video but no luck.

    2) Is it possible with some customisation to have a background image load first before the video starts playing so the screen doesn’t remain blank?

    3) Any tips on how to add a poster image to display on mobile devices would be a massive help.

    Hi,
    1. the video player fade out once the Youtube API throw the ready event so the time is defined by the Youtube javascript API.

    2. You just need to set a body background image both for the desktop and the mobile devices. you can use the “cover” background css property to fit the image to the whole screen.
