Tip for "Cannot Login after Import" or "Save Permalink does work"

Eeek – after the import to the new site I was not able to save the permalinks or when I did I was not able to login.
After several hours of frustration it occurred to me that when the Import tool said it was overwriting your WP_USERS – it did just that. I think I was expecting it to append the users not completely overwrite the table.
To clarify – for my new site I had created admin user ID (admin2). When I imported – the wp_users table was overwritten so my admin2 account was gone – thus when I tried to login I couldn’t. However – my old admin user ID (admin1) and it’s password worked fine.
