I’m on the free version 2.2.8.

It’s unclear at what version this became an issue as I only recently needed to update the content in the home page sections (Services, Contact, etc). Within the Customize view on the home page, when navigating to individual sections, the TEXT fields are no longer loading the WYSIWYG. An error is instead triggered:

    Uncaught TypeError: tinyMCE.get(…) is null

The error is coming from line 1388 of the customizer.js asset. No other installed plugins use text editing or TinyMCE. The website in question has minimal customizations and plugins that might interfere. This is occurring in multiple browsers. This issue renders most content sections on the home page un-editable as the WYSIWYG is being applied to a div rather than a text field.

Please advise if this is a known issue with an available remedy. I have already tried disabling all other plugins with no resolution to the issue.

    Hi,

Could you try disabling all your plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

    Let me know!

Thanks for the response. I had already done what you recommended (including cache clearing), but repeated the steps again. This time the culprit was revealed.

For anyone else who encounters this issue, the problem appears to have been caused by the WP SVG Icons plugin. Activating/deactivating this plugin now re-enables the section text editing fields.
