I can open TinyMCE Advanced and type in text, import pictures, etc… but I can no longer save! TinyMCE Advanced worked perfectly for more than 2 years before it stopped working on Firefox, Explorer, Edge, and Chrome. Deactivating all other plugins (to test for conflict) did not resolve the issue. I am using WP 4.9.8, TinyMCE Advanced 4.8.0 on a template from themeforest (Avada 5.1.6). Thank you for any suggestion on how I may resolve this problem as I can no longer make changes to my webpages!

Did you update something before this started to happen? Could it be the theme? If you’ve tried disabling all other plugins, the next step is to try switching to one of the default themes and trying again.

Another place to look is for any JS errors in the browser console when you click on the Save button. If there is one, see which JS script causes it and disable it.

Thank you Andrew: You’re absolutely right, it’s the theme! The problem was solved once I updated the theme from 5.1.6 to its current version (5.6.2).

I do however still have another issue: I cannot access “Customize” (under Appearance in the Dashboard). I get an “HTTP ERROR 500”. Contacting the theme’s authors was of no help.

Thank you very much in advance for any thoughts on how to address this one!

I’m glad you were able to resolve the previous issue ??

The HTTP error 500 is a tough one though. That is generally an unspecified server error (doesn’t tell much about what’s happening). Could be some file on the server is corrupt, or has wrong permissions, or is blocked by some sort of security setting… Best bet would be to keep searching about similar errors that happened on sites with similar plugins+theme configuration.

Another thing would be to try to get some support from your web hosting company. They may have access to some logs and be able to pinpoint the problem.
