Tiny MCE Visual Editor is missing after upgrade

  • The visual editor is missing after I upgraded to 2.7. The rest of the upgrade seems to be fine.

    I tried to install the TinyMCE Advanced plugin, but it failed.

    I can only view posts in HTML the visual editor has to options and is blank.

    Does anybody have any ideas on how I can correct this.

    Every problem I get…I find “nothing” in posts, forums, google……

    TinyMCE Adv. no buttons and I couldn’t move them in dashboard…Sooo…

    This worked for me on a couple of occasions(plugins)…
    Instead of using the auto-install for plugins…
    Upload the plugin folder into wp-content/plugins via FTP.
    Make sure you put the “folder” and all of it’s content.
    In dashboard go to plugins…activate the plugin.
    I tried hunting for conflicting Java script on each page…nothing…I tried reinstalling plugin (auto)…etc…Finally I tried as above and works fine.

    I’ve tried all of the suggestions at asaozz’ site, as well as, others found elsewhere without success. I have at leat 10 blogs upgraded with no problems, but this one is just not giving me the editor buttons. Any other suggestions out there?

    Since upgrading from WP 2.6.1 to 2.7 I can no longer use the visual editor. When in the editing panels, I can see the Visual editor tab, and that is the tab that appears to be activated, but I’m actually in the html editor. Meanwhile the html editor tab is grayed out.

    Like mauiman, I’ve tried all of the suggestions at asaozz’ site. Any other ideas. Evidently this is not an isolated incident and something is buggy with 2.7

    No Visual editor after upgrade to WP 2.7
    Since upgrading from WP 2.6.1 to 2.7 I can no longer use the visual editor. When in the editing panels, I can see the Visual editor tab, and that is the tab that appears to be activated, but I’m actually in the html editor. Meanwhile the html editor tab is grayed out.

    Help – is anyone with this problem still having the same issue with 2.8.6? I have this problem but only with one post — even though the Visual tab is highlighted, I’m really in HTML editor, and I only see the HTML when I click on the HTML tab. All other posts are fine, which makes me think clearing caches and all those other ideas won’t make a difference. It’s the same on Windows and Mac.

    If I copy and paste the HTML to a new draft, it shows just fine and shows me my full content in a real Visual editor.

    Can someone from WordPress please chime in and tell us what’s going on?

    Did you paste this content in from Word or any other application? Try copying the text into NotePad or any plain text editor. Delete the content in the post then copy & paste the NotePad content back into the post and re-save it.
