Tiny MCE Editor not appearing in Magic Fields 2

Any progress on this? Bug is also in MF1

Hi hunk, I tried this version and it did not fix any of the problems I have encountered. The switching between “Visual” and “HTML” is still broken. The error for that is:
“Uncaught ReferenceError: switchEditors is not defined”

To trigger it click on the “HTML” button, then back on the “Visual” button and you can see the error in the browser console (I tested in Firefox and Chrome).

Also, the Advanced theme for TinyMCE never shows. In the code I saw it was looking for the “simple” theme so I made that available and it used it but “Advanced” would be better.

Also, I marked a little CSS glitch (in Firefox only). That’s not a big deal but I thought I should mention it.

Hey guys…did you do anything special to get this working? I’m using the latest version of WP as well and I am still getting this issue, same behavior as stuartt.

Hunk, do you mean clear the Magic Fields or Browser cache? I did both and I get the same behavior.

Hi Chee Studio, download the last version of MF2 (develop) https://github.com/magic-fields-team/Magic-Fields-2 and clear cache of browser

That’s really strange. I downloaded the latest version and cleared the cache and no change. I also tried using another browser entirely that I never used before just to test, still no go.

Currently, no other plugins running either.

Console still shows:

NetworkError: 404 Not Found – https://www.mysite.com/wp-includes/js/tinymce/themes/simple/editor_template.js?ver=345-20111127

So this is odd…I went ahead and published a post and suddenly the editor appeared just fine!

Now, it only is semi-broken on a certain Post Type called “Portfolio.” I get the editor, but no CSS applied! Very odd. See this screenshot:

If I switch between the two, the editor goes away completely. Once again, this only affects this post type. Cleared my cache, used different browser, same thing.

Oh and I should mention that I have another site that is running 3.3.1 along with Magic Fields 2 and I don’t get this problem at all!

What do you think would cause this from install to install? I’m using the same host for both.

Yes. It’s really odd, I had no problem with that site (and also ran a bunch of plugins).

So now basically I am only getting partial TinyMCE (per my screenshot).

Seems like something very simple…

@chee Studio – All we did was add something to hide the div “postdivrich” as this was interfering with things. So basically we check to see if we are in the correct posttype and if we are we use jQuery to disable that div:

jQuery('#postdivrich').hide();

Other than that, in the post type for your MF make sure you have the box for “Editor” checked under the “Supports” column on the left side of the “Edit Post Type” screen.

That enabled this to work for us.
