We have a very large user base, and trying to Bulk Update causes the plugin to timeout and fail.

Is there a way to chunk this out so it only changes for a few hundred users at a time?

This has been a fear of mine, but you’re the first to ever report it.

How many users do you have?

Can you give me some info on your server? Are you on shared hosting? How much ram do you have?

I’m working on an update, so I can add chunking in with the update.

I’ve made some changes in version 1.4.0, which I released last night. Let me know if this doesn’t fix your timeout issues.

    Thanks for the update.

We have over 28,000 users. I’ll let you know how this works.

It seems to be getting many more of the users than before the update.

But still not catching all of 28,000. However, the “Automatically Update” feature is working to get the active users, so I will count this as resolved.

Thank you for all your hard work on this plugin. Made it much easier than changing all of the entries by hand.

Out of curiosity. Was it still a timeout error you saw, or was it a memory exhaustion error? There may be a little more I can do, or at least write a Wiki article with some code detailing how to run a database query to make it work.

WordPress Multisite considers anything over 10,000 users to be a large network, so 28,000 users would definitely explain things.
