Times showing hours ahead or inconsistently throughout

    Hi, love this plugin but I’m running into some issues that I need some help with.

    I’ve been noticing that sometimes the times on the “Current Visit, Previous, etc” are listed correctly and other times are listed up to 6 hours ahead (I’m in New York). Seems completely random at times depending on the sender…

    I also notice that the Current Visit time displayed is sometimes before the Previous and First Visit time:
    First visit: 12/09/2013 1:17:51 PM
    Previous visit: 12/09/2013 1:17:51 PM
    Current visit: 12/09/2013 12:50:51 PM

    Annnnnd there are times when the years don’t even make sense:
    First visit: 04/24/2012 2:05:13 PM
    Previous visit: 05/02/2012 2:21:38 PM
    Current visit: 05/03/2012 10:55:24 AM

    My clients are demanding answers to these issues and I thought it may just be a setting in the coding or maybe a timestamp issue but everything in the plugin is up to par as far as I can tell and I’ve already spent a significant amount of time researching this for an answer. The time is set correctly in our analytics account and also on computers we’ve tested so I know that’s not the issue…

    I totally understand that may be this is just something that nobody can help as it’s coming from Google’s tacking code or cookie settings but could you at least provide me with a somewhat detailed reason as to why this may be occurring so I can pass it on to them and ease their worries? Much appreciated

    Hi,

    Thanks for using our plugin and taking time to feed back on it.
    As i have previously explained, the plugin works with the cookies GA code drops on the user’s computer when they browse the site.
    As they depend on the user’s system, whatever timezone they have set up, that is what we’ll be reading from the cookies.
    If the users are in a different timezone you will see that reflected in the emails you receive. Please keep in mind this is an approximate solution, it does not claim to be 100% accurate – as it’s cookie based.
    We’re relying on GA and are very much dependent on the user’s system clock.
