• Hi, is there a timeline or some kind of roadmap or plan for 1.3? Seems like news is kind of scarce here. I’m wondering if this is a software that will continue on and be supported – I hate to jump on to a sinking ship. It all looks good with what I have played with so far but I really need the features of 1.3. Can anyone “official” comment on the future of WP and in particular 1.3?
    Thanks

  • You certainly don’t need to worry about it being a sinking ship… although I do agree that current version/progress info is lacking.. it is there.
currently its in 1.3-alpha-3… so its a way off offical release it would appear.. even tho it is very stable there are, I’m sure, more things to be implemented.
A projected featurelist would be nice tho, that showed us what fetures were currently done, sem-done, or not done at all….

Actualy, I think the lack of news is a good thing (At least as far as this conerned) because it means (hopefully) they are buisy with the development and not spendign time in here.
Sometimes the news goes in spurts… there will be a time when there’s a lot about it – because user feedback is needed – and times when it’s scarce.

I’ve been using the 1.3 alpha 2 builds of WP for a while now without any problems. I really don’t understand why they are being so coy about releasing a final version of 1.3 I understand they are implementing a new templating system. This is great, and I can see how this could hold things up, but it seems to me that there should be some kind of an intermediate update (1.2.5?) that implements many of the new features of 1.3 without whatever it is that’s causing the hold-up.

    Informal 1.3 “Roadmap”
Once some of the features have stabilized, there will be announcements on the dev blog.
