Time not showing, default template, WP 1.5

  • Howdy. I’m using the default/Kubrick template with only very minor cosmetic changes (deleted meta stuff, added personal header) and installation of 2 antispam plugins (Meyer’s Gatekeeper and a Referer-Bouncer thingy).

    I have set the time correctly and I’m pretty sure it WAS showing on my posts until yesterday. Or maybe I’m dreaming. The time of the post does show when I switch to the “classic” theme. But not my default/Kubrick. ??

    I saw in the index.php template all the commented-out stuff about “needing to adjust” but I think that’s for the “time-since” plugin, which I am not using.

    I searched here and couldn’t find anything about this exact mystery. Thanks for any help. ??

  • I just want to understand this. In the theme you are using, the time of the post doesn’t show up in what is known as the “post meta data”, right? But it does in the classic theme.

    The time area in your modified Kubrick/default theme is found in a “box” below your post, right? Check inside there to see if the_time() template tag is still there, whereever you want it.

    Formatting Date and Time

    The Default template should display the time on a single post page, right after the post content in the “post-meta” section. Everywhere else it only displays the date.

    Thanks both of you for responding! ?? I understand now and there’s nothing wrong.

    I guess as a former MT user I was “expecting” the time (by default) to show up on top of every individual post on the front page, like the date does (I’d like to find a way to not have the date repeat for each post within the same day, but that’s another project!), but in WP1.5/Kubrick it is only coded to appear on the SINGLE post page, as you said.
