Time for an update and bump

I’m using the 2 year old version on one website and it still seems to work great with 4.7.

Understandably life gets busy but this plugin would be worth updating to ensure compatibility and security and give it a fresher date (anything over a year old is automatically suspect, 2+ years is really pushing it).

There are a couple of newer background slider plugins out there but they are not as battle-tested yet as WP Vegas, and as a site developer I’d rather not be the guinea pig or lab rat for a new plugin. On the other hand I do want the plugins I use to be keeping up with the latest technology and WordPress changes, as well as security concerns.

Bloat is a concern – a lightweight plugin that does one thing and does it well is often to be preferred to a do-all plugin with lots of resource-intensive features and options.

Issuing a premium version might help justify keeping the code current. Not sure what to suggest but maybe if the free version handled still shots and the premium added video, lazy-load, and caching support, or something.

If the repository plugin is still solid as is, an update to bump the date would probably increase downloads and installations.
