Time field refuses to take 24h clock input, after v2.8

After update to Pods 2.8 (or later minors):

When editing a time field, when I input 20:00 it automatically changes to 08:00. The field format is 24h clock (or WP site default, ‘H:i’) and html5, REST API enabled. Block editor.

After reverting to Pods 2.7.x all good, as before.
