When a customer chooses to upgrade, the amount the customer should be charged is based on the price difference between the two options and the time left in their current subscription before it renews.

Example: A customer purchases Subscription A for $89 on Oct 1, 2017. On March 1, 2018 the customer upgrades their license to Subscription B which normally sells for $129. The price difference is $40 and there are 6 months left to their current subscription. The customer should pay $20 (immediately) to upgrade. On Oct 1, 2018 the customer will be charged $129 to renew.

Is this possible with WC subscription?

    Hi @sws3

This is possible with the Subscription Switching feature:

    https://woocommerce.com/document/subscriptions/switching-guide/#section-4

You can choose to prorate your subscriptions product.

Subscriptions will never prorate the recurring payment by default. That means a customer can switch to a new subscription, without paying anything until the next payment is due. This is most suitable for subscriptions to physical items where the cost of the subscription is incurred at time of renewal.
