Time as “31 de maio de 2005”

Hi for everybody!

Please, how could I set the time to appear, under each post, as an example, “31 de Maio de 2005”? I’ve just tried <?php the_time(‘j de F de Y’) ?> just like we use here in Brazil, but it has failed… I’m new to this. Please, help me, somebody… Thanks in advance!
