Tim Thumb Only If No featured Image is present

  • Tim Thumb doesn’t always result in pretty re-sizing. Some images are just difficult when there is a large discrepancy in size/dimensions between the image in the post and the re-sized image.

    How can I make it so that Tim Thumb uses the featured image when available, but proceeds as usually with re-sizing if there is no featured image present.

  • Hi domdeez,

    Depending on how many pictures you have already in your library, what I would suggest is to always manually re-size your pictures before uploading them to your site.
    If you work with a lot of images and don’t wish to do this manually, there is a free program called Light Image Resizer. It lets you simultaneously re-size batches of images and add watermarks to them.
