    Hello!
I am trying to show captions, upon click, while using tiled mosaics and not having any luck. I use FancyBox for WordPress to scroll through all images on the page when clicked but only single images will display their captions. If I turn off FancyBox, I still don’t have captions displayed in the Jetpack Gallery. Is there a solution? Thanks in advance!

You’ll need to contact support for FancyBox about that, or use our Carousel instead: https://jetpack.com/support/carousel/

Thanks for the reply. The issue is that the captions don’t appear with FancyBox off. This is why I believe it is a Jetpack issue and not FancyBox.

Would you please switch off FancyBox so we can take a look at that?

Done. The first two photos of the black and red car do not have captions but the next two, with the white BMW and black Subaru do. Thanks!

It looks like these are working properly with Carousel, so the issue appears to be FancyBox.

    Here’s what I’m seeing:

Also, please excuse my Monday Brain? here, Carousel will display the Title, but it does not display the Caption.

Digging in to FancyBox, it fully controls what is displayed, so if it’s not displaying the caption (and it’s supposed to), you will need to get in touch with them.

At least, for now, Carousel is displaying the Title.

Yeah, those are titles, not captions. I think Carousel does not send the caption data through to FancyBox. I am reading that is a common problem.

    Hi there,

This is a known issue, and has to do with how the block editor handles image metadata. So this affects any gallery or slideshow plugin that relies on image metadata.

You can see a more detailed explanation on this GitHub issue: https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/issues/11594

Our team is actively working on finding a solution to this, but for now captions will not display on galleries created using Jetpack’s gallery blocks, nor will they display in the gallery carousel for those galleries.

The only workaround I know of at this time is to add the gallery via the classic block or the gallery shortcode instead.

You’re welcome to follow the main issue for this on our end at https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/issues/11794 for any updates.
