I originally joined another related thread, and am moving it into it’s own forum topic here.
To see the original go here.

I am using the latest version of Jetpack (v3.5) with Postie (v1.6.18).
    Jetpack has “Tiled Galleries” enabled.
    I have 25 active plugins – here’s a PDF Listing.

My version of WP is v4.2.1.

    Here’s the issue..
Please watch the following 3.5 min. video demonstration, here.

    In Brief..
When using Jetpack’s Tilled Galleries feature, group images are not connected to one another as a slideshow, even though the images are tiled on the front end.

PS: I have tried this with the 2013 WordPress theme, as well as with my current one.
Same results with both the themes.
So it is apparently not a theme-related issue.

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

Thanks for that video, that was a perfect way to describe the problem!

As you mentioned, the Slideshow effect disappears when you switch to another theme. That’s because that effect is added by your theme. From your video, I gather that you’re using the Alora theme.
I found a demo of the theme here, and a post using galleries:
    https://demo.theme4press.com/alora/2006/03/13/galleries/

The whole gallery seems to be managed by a plugin named PrettyPhoto. I think it is bundled with your theme, but I don’t know how it creates the effect, and how compatible it is with other gallery plugins like Jetpack’s Tiled Gallery module.

It might be worth checking your theme options, to see if there are any options to configure that gallery, and its slideshow.

Another alternative would be to disable PrettyPhoto and its slideshow effect, and use Jetpack’s Carousel module instead.

Let me know how it goes.

    Jeremy,

Thanks for the tip – I found the “Royal PrettyPhoto” plugin based on your info; I installed it and now everything is working.
I’m not sure why, but doing so solved the problem.

I’ll pass this information on to the Alora developer.

    Thanks for your kind help.

Glad to see your problem got solved, Tim! ??
