• It seems the tiled gallery feature of the Jetpack plug-in has browser incompatibility issues.

In Safari and Chrome, the tiled gallery disappears after about a second. In the source code, the<img>tags go missing.

The page to which I’m referring is here

I’ve tried systematically deactivating plug-ins and emptying W3 Total Cache. I’ve also tested it on the following browsers on both Mac OS X and Windows 8 (via browserstack.com). Here’s what I found:

Safari (Mac) – gallery usually doesn’t appear
    Chrome (Mac+Win) – gallery usually doesn’t appear
Firefox (Mac + Win) – gallery appears
    IE (Win) – gallery appears

I say usually doesn’t appear because the gallery seems to appear once, but subsequently disappears after the user returns to the post from the attachment page. Refreshing the browser doesn’t help. Strange…

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. When it works, it’s a great feature!

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

I had a look at your site, and I could reproduce the issue. I also noticed Javascript errors, apparently caused by 2 different plugins:
    https://i.wpne.ws/O4A0

Could you try to deactivate the 2 plugins, and check if the gallery starts appearing again?

I would also recommend that you turn off the Minify engine in W3 Total Cache, as it can cause conflicts with the Jetpack plugin.

Let me know if it helps!

Thanks for looking into this Jeremy, but galleries still disappear.

I deactivated both of those plug-ins (again) and emptied caches, but the galleries still disappear.

    I’ve also disabled Minify.

    Any more ideas? Thanks.

Could you try to switch to a different theme for a few minutes, and let me know if it helps?

I activated the default Twentytwelve theme and the tiled galleries work normally.

My theme is a child theme of Twentytwelve, so there is some css or something in my altered functions.php that affects the functionality of tiled galleries. Any ideas where to start looking? Thanks.

I would start by disabling all functions adding Javascript to the site, or that modify images and galleries. Let me know if it helps.

I too am noticing the same issue with my test site https://www.sea-savvy.com under the model pages.

@tstyron1979 You seem to be using a custom Gallery plugin for the gallery displayed on the models page of your site.

Could you try to deactivate all other gallery plugins, and see if it helps?

I am having issues with my website https://www.grovetwig.com as well. My tiled galleries view fine in my Chrome Version 28.0.1500.95 and my Comodo IceDragon version 22.0.0.1, but in my Internet Explorer version 8.0 on XP service pack 2 the gallery looks like a multi-colored barcode squeezed to the left hand side of the screen. Single photos are unchanged and display fine.

I’m using WordPress 3.6 with the Responsive theme version 1.9.3.5 and I’m using the 2.3.4 version of JetPack

@grovetwig You will experience issues with such an old browser. I would suggest that you switch to Firefox or Chrome, as suggested here:
    https://browsehappy.com/

You can also try toggling Internet Explorer’s Compatibility mode on and off to see if it helps:

Please bear with me since I am new to WordPress and have limited coding experience. When I deactivate the Gallery Pro plug-in, all of the galleries are now gone. I have been experiencing instances where they either show ramdom sizes in the tiled gallery or they aren’t there at all until I refresh a couple of times. IF I can’t use this plug-in how should I set up a gallery for each page?

@tstyron1979 Could you follow the instructions here to create a Gallery, and let me know if it helps?

Jeremy – I have deactivated the plug-in (not deleted files, yet) and reloaded all the galleries the way you suggested directly in the page. Some pages are showing correctly while others look like this . Not sure why some are appearing like this now.

The gallery seems to be displayed properly on my end. Have you managed to find a solution by yourself?

I’m actually having the same issue- tiled galleries show up every time on Chrome, but only about half the time on Safari, especially when going to individual posts:

@jhwade: Can you please start your own thread? Your issue is likely unrelated to this one, unless you have the exact same server setup as the original poster.
