    Greetings,
I am having issues adding items to my cart and checking out via the TikTok in-app browser – when you add an item to the cart it does not redirect to the cart (as per settings), sometimes I’ll manage to get into the cart by repeatedly pressing the cart icon (10x times), but from there I can’t seem to reach checkout.

This seems to only happen on iOS devices, as I have tested on Android and the issue isn’t present.

Website works fine in other in-app browsers such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.

I am wondering if this is a TikTok specific issue or something to do with my hosting/cache/etc.

    Thanks in advance,
    Proxyman

  • Hi @proxyman,

In this case, it seems you have narrowed it down quite a bit considering it only seems to happen with the TikTok app and iOS devices. Lets make sure that you have not uncovered a WooCommerce core issue though – if you can set up a quick staging/clone site and test with just WooCommerce, and see if the same issue persists. If it does, let us know here. If it does not, then work through the plugins and / or theme to see what might be blocking it via TikTok. You can read more about plugin and theme conflicts here:

If the same thing happens with just WooCommerce active, I would double check the link opening option in the iOS TikTok app; it is possible it is trying to open something different or in a different location than expected and could be causing the issue. If this is the case, reach out to the developer of the TikTok app for iOS and see what they might say or find.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m marking this thread closed for noe – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.

I am having this exact same issue. My wordpress website will not work through the tik tok browser on IOS. It Says something went wrong. Please try again later.

    My tik tok is https://www.tiktok.com/@apyrodesign

    My website is https://www.spinnermation.com

I have link tree in my bio and when you click on it and click get animated spinners here (the link to my website) From an iphone it says that error from above. Android works fine.

I have tried different link tree apps and also putting the direct link to my website as the link in my bio and I still have issues. I have tried disabling all of my plugins and switched to a different theme and still the same error.

    Hi @alfonsopyro

I understand how frustrating this can be.

Since you’re not the person who originally started this topic then, per the forum guidelines, would you please start your own topic?

We’ll be more than happy to help there ??

    Greetings,
I have since then resolved my problem.
The issue was With the tawk.to script (live chat service) – the script was set to send browser tab notifications (the number in Parentheses when you get a website notification) – once I disabled this feature the website worked great in the TiKTok browser.

I would disable any plugins or scripts that are sending browser level notifications to the client and troubleshoot from there.

    Hope this helps.
