Ticket “Search” doesn’t seem to search ticket content

To get around the bug I mentioned about a WP user changing email address or entering a different email address in KB-Support ticket form, and KB-support then creating separate customers in KB Support which are not linked, I now ask customer to type their “preferred” reply email address, and I have a hidden field mapped to their WP email address. So this helps me find the actual WP user, but its still a lot of extra work.
however….if I am searching via the “search” tickets, I enter any of these email addresses in “search tickets”, nothing gets found.
Does “search” only search for title or ticket number?
Can this be improved to search ticket content? Also to search by customer email addresses and other DB fields? (without having to go through “Customers” tab?
