    Hi,

I have set up a payment method using Stripe in Tickets. Everything seemed to work fine. However, after payment was made (and marked as completed within the Stripe Dashboard), the order is left on “Pending” rather than “Completed”. As a result, the ticket is not sent to the customer. On top of this, since the tickets are still “Pending,” the number of available tickets does not decrease.

How can I resolve this issue? I have talked to Stripe support, and they are convinced it is not on their end.

    Thanks in advance!

    Merten

  • Hello #@artemissociety,

Thanks for getting in touch. I’ll be glad to assist you.

    A few things:

    • Is the order on Stripe successful?
    • Could you check the order detail to see if it failed first and then succeeded later?
    • Also share a screenshot of the order that matched the Stripe ID both on Stripe and Event Tickets.

I am excited to hear back from you.

    Hi Frank,

The order on Stripe is successful. Regarding the order detail, do you mean on Stripe or WP? On Stripe the order was marked as ‘Payment Started’ first, then it was immediately marked as ‘Payment Succeeded’.

I am not exactly sure what you needed for the last point, but hopefully this suffices:

    Thanks again!

    Hi,

I wanted to give a small update. Within the Tickets Settings under Payments, I can find a setting called ‘Stock Handling’. Changing this to “Decrease available ticket stock and send the ticket to the customer as soon as a?Pending?order is created.” does indeed reduce the number of available tickets. But if the Payment transfer is cancelled halfway through, the available ticket number is still decreased. This, of course, is also not ideal.

On top of this, both succeeded Payments and cancelled payments stay marked as “Pending” within WordPress.

    Hello @artemissociety,

    Thanks for your replies.

From the screenshot you shared, I can see that the customer paid with iDEAL on Stripe.

We have an internal ticket ET-2082 that’s addressing this issue and I’ve included your use case in it to communicate it to our team.

We prioritize bugs by taking into consideration the number of users impacted as well as how the bug impacts one’s ability to run an event/sell tickets. Hi,

I’ve run into the exact same issue. I got The Events Calendar and Event Tickets Plus setup with my Stripe account. Payments both from iDeal and Creditcards arrive in my Stripe account, but then no ticket is emailed to the buyer. When I look at attendees and orders in WordPress the status of tickets is on pending.  If I make the tickets free, the ticket is emailed. So it has something to do with the connection between Strip and Event Tickets.

What can I do to fix this issue?

    Thanks in advance,

    Benjamin

Don’t know why this was marked resolved. It’s 4 months later, and I’m experiencing this issue as well.

Bumping this so it gets some more attention as this issue still persists.

Same here! Tried all kinds of settings: in Event Ticket Plus and in Stripe. Nothing helped.

    Hello,

Are there any updates on this issue? It’s becoming quite problematic. Many of our users fail on the first attempt but succeed on the second, yet the attempt remains marked as “Pending.” This means the ticket isn’t sent to the user, even though they’ve already paid. This is causing significant confusion and frustration for our users, and it needs to be resolved urgently.

Same here with bancontact, i cant access attendee registration information also, every ticket is on hold. I just updated the webhook to the latest api version of stripe but that dont resolve the issue.

I have also another problem maybe linked to that, when i cancel a payment i return to the success page…

    Hey @artemissociety ,

We’re back with some good news!

In our latest release, we have resolved the issue with the asynchronous payment methods in Stripe not updating Payment status to Completed in the Plugin.

Please update the plugins to their latest versions to apply that fix to your site.

As always, we suggest testing updates on a staging site first and having a recent backup, but it should all be smooth sailing.

    See: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/creating-and-using-a-wordpress-staging-site/

    Hello @luanluta ,

The payment seems to work but I still have a problem with the validation of cancelled payments on my site. If a payment is cancelled, the customer is taken to the success page and the number of tickets sold in the admin is incremented.

Furthermore, all the tickets previously affected by the bug are still pending, I can’t manually put them through to completion and I don’t have access to the ticket information either, I can’t even contact the customers to let them know.

    best regards

I have the same problem. It has something to do with Stripe I think.. can the status of the order be changed manually if I connect with Woocommerce?
