I thought this was working fine. I used to to change the images for my image slider and other thumbnails. I noticed a couple of days later that my image slider was no longer showing the updated thumbnail. I did it again, and I had the correct image on there, and then a couple of days later, it was the original image again. Is there something I can do to prevent this?

If you can figure out if it’s a plugin that’s resetting the picture, I can find out if there is a way to work around it. I haven’t heard of this behavior before, so I don’t think that it’s an issue with wordpress itself. What theme are you using? Maybe it’s from that?

    I’m using the Arras theme.

I use the arras theme too and haven’t seen this problem. Do you have a large number of plugins enabled? Do you have any indication on when the files are changed? (Can you look at the datestamp on a reverted image to find out when that changed? Does it look like they are all updated (the files are typically all stored in the same directory)?)

I don’t know how to check the datestamp on the thumbnails. My primary plugin suspects are wp-super cache and regenerate thumbnails. I can’t think of any others that might be causing a conflict. As of now, I have the image I want to have. I turned the caching off, and I’m not going to regenerate any thumbnails, and I’m going to see if it stays how it is. If it changes again, I will investigate how to check the datestamp, so I can give you that information. I really like the plugin, and I want to continue using it.

Yeah, the regenerate plugin definitely overwrites them, but this shouldn’t happen without you telling it to regenerate your thumbnails. I know the arras theme says that you should run it, but you only need to run it in the case that you change the size of the thumbnails, and if you do that, you will probably need to change the thumbnails using PTE as well since trying to remember where your last crop was hasn’t been implemented yet…

Ok, that’s probably what the problem is, because I have regenerated thumbnails the last few days, because I was having a problem with my profile thumbnails. I’ll stay away from regenerate thumbnails, and I should be good. I’ll let you know if I have the problem again without running the regenerate thumbnails plugin. Thanks a lot.
