    I’m using Envira Version 1.5.0.5

Two separate problems building gallery and then display on my website:

    1. When I go to create a gallery, I only get 2 rather than three columns.

    2. I configure the output for 3 columns which works. If I specify 150×150 thumbnails, it works fine. However, if I select 300X300 thumbnails it changes the order of the thumbnails except for the top row.

To demonstrate the problem, I’ve given the top 12 images Metadata from ONE thru TWELVE which become visible by hovering over each image.

The order is very important. It should be ascending from left to right in each row.

    Thank you.

    Hey!

    1) I’m not certain I understand what you’re experiencing here, can you provide specific steps I can take to follow the problem you’re seeing?

    2) Gallery images are output and displayed from left to right, top to bottom. However if you are not cropping the images in your gallery and the images are of different proportions this can cause the images not to appear in this specific grid layout but instead they’ll display in a masonry style. You can enable cropping in the Config tab to be sure all images are shown in a specific order without masonry.

    Thanks!

    Erica,

    1. When you go to the link above in my original posts, you should be seeing my Envira gallery of three columns. I’ve set up the first four rows to demonstrate the problem; hover over each image from left to right and you should see ONE through TWELVE. Instead, you will see in Row 1, ONE through Three. In Row 2, going from left to right you will see FIVE, FOUR, SIX; should be FOUR, FIVE, SIX. In Row 3, going from left to right you will see EIGHT, SEVEN, NINE; should be SEVEN, EIGHT, NINE. In Row 4, going from left to right, you see TWELVE, TEN, ELEVEN; should be TEN, ELEVEN, TWELVE.

Isn’t this what you are seeing?

    2. The images are all the same size and proportions.

    3. In addition the ENVIRA tab in my editor, does nothing when I press it. Also, when I’m building a new gallery, it only goes two wide.

I’ve deleted ENVIRA and re-installed with the same results. I also tested by deactivating all my other plugins with the same results.

    Thank you.

    Hey!

    1. Yes, this is what I was referring to will happen if the image are differing dimensions throughout the gallery. Yours are very *similar* in dimensions but not identical. They are all 300 pixels wide, but the height differs by just a few pixels throughout the gallery and this is enough to cause the issue.
Will you be sure to enable the image cropping option in the Config tab to be sure the images are all output at the same dimensions to resolve the issue?

    2. Regarding the Envira button in the editor not working, have you checked for a possible plugin or theme conflict yet?

    3. The ‘two wide’ issue I’m not sure what you mean, can you provide specific steps I can take to reproduce this issue?

    Thanks!

    Erica,

    Thank you.

    1. I did crop as you suggested and it fixed the immediate problem. They are all displaying in the correct order.

Now the page is displaying very slow. I added a page loading plugin and it actually loads fairly quick. However, from the time of finished loading until the page displays is quite slow. Any ideas on what I can do to improve the display time?

    2. The ENVIRA button is now working in the editor. Not sure why but glad that it is working.

    3. The two wide issue is that when I’m building a gallery I only get 2 columns rather than at least 3. However, so long as they end up displaying correctly I’m fine with that.

    Thanks!

    Hey!

    Certainly. ??

    On the remaining issues:

    Column Display
Do you have 2 or 3 columns selected in the Config tab when editing your gallery? When I view your gallery it is displayed in 3 columns. Can you also check what your browser’s dimensions are as you may have your browser adjusted to a size that is causing the images to begin their responsive behavior.

    Load Time
I ran the gallery through GTMetrix’s pagespeed tool with the following results: https://gtmetrix.com/reports/testing.selmarcerini.com/xzAAXOwS

Looks like there is a significant delay in the first response from your server (~1.5 seconds), you may wish to check that your hosting needs are adequate here.

Following that, I’d strongly suggest using a plugin like EWWW Image Optimizer to optimize the images generated in your WordPress site, this will help compress the images and reduce their filesize.

You can also review any additional recommendations that are made by the GTMetrix speed test to improve your site’s overall performance.

    Erica,
The Column Display problem appears to be resolved. The Config tab is set for 3 columns and that has been working. The problem was within ENVIRA when building a new gallery that only allowed for 2 columns. Thanks to your suggestion, although I still have not figured out how to change browser size, I did try under a different browser and now I do get 4 columns when building a new gallery.

I will be following up with your suggestions on improving load time and overall site performance.

One thing still puzzles me. The LOADING plugin shows 100% in just a few seconds but the real delay up to 30 seconds comes after the 100% delay. I’m going to find a different LOADING plugin that gives more accurate output percentage. If that does not change then I wonder if the time after the 100% until the images display are due to another component in WP.

    Thanks again.
