Thumbnails not getting processed/optimized and Bugs

    Hi,

    I have a few problems (paying pro user).

    1. Thumbnails generated by my theme do not seem to be optimized. This is very bad because these are the most used ones (e.g. on startpage). Shortpixel supports this, and also I would like to commit and stay to Imagify — just because I already installed it and compressed 1.5 GB images with it — but, well, this is such a disappointment that I was not aware of before paying for it. (Do you have a money back policy, because I just installed a few days ago? And this is a showstopper, unfortunately)

    2. On the settings screen there a notations of x0. Why is there a 0?

    Why?

    3. On the Media view in wordpress for all images there is a “missing thumbnail”. It is on a lot of images. See https://imgur.com/a/fAua4yx
    a) How can I bulk procress these, I mean, we have like a 1000 pics?
    b) How can I see which thumbnail sizes these are (filenames?) The way it is now, I do not know whether the missing thumbnails are important or not, because I have no ideas what they are.

    Do you have a timeframe within to fix these issues?

    4. So I now wanted to restore the backup. First I thought that one could simply move the uploads/backup/ directory back to uploads/. But since the docs said I should bulk edit using 999 images I did this:

    This resulted in my server going down for 1h. Totally unresponsive. Nothing happened, until went to my hosters backup and did a reboot. The docs are *really* misleading here. Doing 999 images is like Denial of Service to you own server.

    Then I started one by one clicking through 2000 images in order to restore. Take too long.

    Then I bought 32 new processes to my server in order to be able to process. Normally I only have 4 which never was too few.

    We lost a few customers due to this. Using WordPress and WooCommerce for 4 years now, never had a downtime more than 5min, worst experience so far. Sorry, too say that.

    Hope you can fix these bugs, for now I *had* to switch to ShortPixel.

    Hello, I’m Grégory, lead developer of Imagify’s plugin.
    Sorry to see you have these issues.

    1- Imagify also supports this feature since the version 1.7. So if it doesn’t work, we should take a look.

    2- That is perfectly normal, this 0 means there is no limit in the height. 0 is what one would use in the media settings to tell any of the 3 available thumbnail sizes there is no limit in width or height.

    3- You probably installed a plugin or something that adds a new thumbnail size.
    3a- Indeed, we have no bulk for that yet.
    3b- I could take a look on the site and tell you.

    4- Since Imagify only keeps backup of the main image, like any other image optimization plugin, one can’t simply replace the uploads directory by the backup directory, all thumbnails will be missing, and any other media that are not images or not optimized (and the data would remain in the database anyway, preventing future optimizations). The plugin has no bulk restore feature yet, we know it’s missing and it’s on our road-map. As for the error messages, I have no idea of what it means, this is not my territory.

    About the error messages: my colleague says it’s due to php fpm crashing, generally because the RAM is full.
