Back again…just when I thought all was well lol
I discovered that my thumbnails are showing a downsized large image. I have my largest images at 400×400 and when I upload my images the thumbnails (which I have configured at 225×225 in the settings) are generated in the larger image size. I checked using filezilla and the thumbs folder has the larger images in it.
Here is my configuration: Table I C1 1a 225 pixels C2 same as fullsize.
I use the “last ten” and have that set as well in IF They show up the right size of course but with the larger sized images in the smaller box. I also use the cloud but nothing is working there as I’ve just uploaded some images and haven’t configured them yet by tags.
So I figured I’d regenerate the thumbnails. did that but that didn’t change anything.
so I went in the back and deleted all the thumbs and regenerated again. No dice.
I only have 20 images uploaded because I wanted to make sure it worked. So I deleted all of them and the thumbs and uploaded them all again. No dice.
I’m obviously missing something?? look here to see.

Sorry…I checked the debug…never knew I should do that.

Check Table I-C9: Use thumb if fit.
Note that the ‘thumbnailsize’ ( of the file ) is the max of ( coverphoto size, thumbnail size, alt thumbnail size, popup size, all the widget image sizes ) rounded up to an integer number times 25.

I have Table I-C9 already checked. I don’t understand the last statement at all sorry. I did put 225 in all the places that I thought might affect the size of the thumbnail including widgets.

Now they are gone… but there is also an access problem. Tick box Table IV-A18

    Table I-C8 also to 225?

I know I just put the popup to 225 and everything disappeared. Table IV-A18 is already checked. I’m trying to get them back…

I know this is a lot to ask but maybe you can tell me exactly what to check off. I’ve tried following all the info but… I upload my images already at 400×400 and want the thumbnails to be at 225×225. It should be easy…

Now my site is broken…what to do?

That’s where the trouble started when I put Table I-C8 also to 225. It was 400. If you could guide me exactly to what I need to do I will delete wappa and make sure I have all files deleted in the back (or do I need to) and make sure the tables are dropped and start fresh and if it doesn’t work…I think I’ll scream ?? Maybe I’ll re-initialize first??

First make sure Table IV-A18: Enable photo html access is ticked.

Run Table VIII-A1: Setup. This destroys nothing, but makes sure the installation is correct.

Go to the Album admin page and delete all albums, one by one, you will need to press a delete button again on a different page, do not copy, just delete.

Create new album, and upload. Leave all your settings as they are now.

You should get the right thumbnails.

If you have any security plugin or caching plugin, de-activate it. They can cause problems. You can always re-activate them later.

It’s going again but hhe images are now resizing from 294px × 300px (scaled to 221px × 225px) But I don’t have image sized anywhere at 300… except in the wp media settings. would that make any difference>

    Plugin Author Jacob N. Breetvelt

    (@opajaap)

No, impossble. I do not look into the wp media anyway.

Are the thumbnail files now different from the normal files? I.e. is …/wp-content/uploads/wppa/x.jpg different from …/wp-content/uploads/wppa/tumbs/x.jpg ?

Also does running Table VIII-A4: Regenerate work?

    Thread Starter frannny

    (@frannny)

Yes the regenerate did work YAY! But as stated above shouldn’t the thumbnails be 225 instead of scaling from 300??
